Lapid's Freshly Popped Chicharon: The Taste of 'Crackling Success'
Lapid’s Freshly Popped Chicharon was founded in 1988 by Atty. Jose A. Lapid, Jr., an entrepreneur who learned the ropes of doing business during his childhood days in Quiapo, Manila where he helped his father sell chicharon and other meat products in their own stall in Quinta Market.
Growing up, his inherent passion for food gave him the vision that one day, he will turn the simple Chicharon to a staple product well-loved by consumers.
During the early years of his business, Lapid, Jr. successfully penetrated the AB segment market. He offered freshly popped Chicharon in three well-maintained outlets with trained salespersons who accommodate and assist the needs of their customers.
From a small start-up, Lapid’s has grown to become an iconic brand known for its distinct taste, signature crunch and prolonged shelf-life. With its good reputation, Lapid’s became the only accredited chicharon supplier for some of the top 10 multinational and transnational food corporations.
Through the years, Lapid’s did not only make it big in business, the company also earned the respect and admiration of “movers and shakers” in the food industry. In 1998, the Philippine Association of Food Technologists, Inc. hailed Lapid’s Chicharon Laman as a finalist in the Likas Pinoy Best Product Category.
Today, Lapid, Jr., continues to innovate and revolutionize their Chicharon brand while maintaining its signature taste and crunch that patrons from all generations have come to love.
